Civic Theatre brought the original Odd Couple to the stage in 1981. This time around, we flip the original story on its ear, exploring the feminine side with Florence Unger and Olive Madison in this adaptation by Neil Simon himself! The gals assemble for Trivial Pursuit and hilarious chaos ensues as these two mis-matched roomies grate each other’s last nerves, but ultimately prove that there’s no bond like friendship in this female version of one of the most famous stage comedies ever written.

My involvement:
I play Vera the sweet but slow one in the group. Currently in rehearsals for this hilarious show.

Peter Townshend’s tale of a young boy’s journey from pain to triumph is the most electrifying evening of rock and roll ever to play in a theatre! After witnessing the accidental murder of his mother's lover by his father, Tommy is traumatized into catatonia, and as the boy grows, he suffers abuse at the hands of his sadistic relatives and neighbors. As an adolescent, he’s discovered to have an uncanny knack for playing pinball, and when his mother finally breaks through his catatonia, he becomes an international pinball superstar.

My involvement:
I performed in the dance core of the show and play various small roles such as Police Officer, Barrister, Prostitute, and many others.

Projects that I've worked on in the past

I try to keep my projects page as up to date as possible, so when something new comes along (as it always does) the old or fininshed projects get shuffled off here. These were fantastic works and things of which I'm still very proud. However, to keep things clean on my projects page, here's a condensed version of these older works.

My short play, "Ghost Light" was selected as a winner of the 2014 Rivers Institute Playwriting Contest. As a winner, my play will be taken on tour this summer from the months of June-August. The tour is currently taking bookings from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinios, and other states. It is free to bring the troupe to your venue! For more information on how to book, visit the website at: Rivers Institute Traveling Theatre

From the Press Release:

"This show consists of five short plays about Indiana cultural figures presented by the Rivers Institute Traveling Theatre company.  Students from Hanover College wrote, directed, and will star in the show.

Mystery writer Rex Stout appears in “Rex Stout Rings Again” by James Wylder.  In the play, Stout’s solves a case where he is the accused.  Two other plays feature Sidney D. Crosier, the impressionist painter from Corydon, and Marilyn Miller, a Broadway and film star from Evansville who died tragically young.

The five shows vary in tone from wistful to dramatic to gently comedic to appeal to broad audiences. "

About "Ghost Light":

A young boy conquers the fear that keeps him from pursuing his dreams with the help of two great Hoosier performers from the heyday of vaudeville.  This play features Marilyn Miller, star of the Vaudeville stage and Hollywood screen, from Evansville.  She came to prominence in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1918 singing the music of Irving Berlin.  Before her untimely death in 1936, Miller starred in several important Broadway productions, including Jerome Kern’s Look for the Silver Lining and the 1924 revival of Peter Pan.  She became the highest paid star on Broadway with Sunny (1925), music by Kern and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein.

About the Event:

Christmas at the Galt House is a large scale character immersion event. Opening every year in November and continuing until January, this Christmas event allows patrons to explore a Christmas world. There are 25 foot luminaries, elves, Santa Claus, and even Christmas Angels. In this interactive environment, characters must stay on their toes for critical questions about elf life or how magic works.

My involvement:
Using improvisation skills, I created and performed daily as Peppermina and sometimes the Christmas Angel. I sang, danced, and made a magical experience for guests. I was employed part-time as a promoter and actress for the event in the off season and full time as a character actress November-January.
